5 Day Workshop on the Conservation of Archaeological Objects
Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology (JIAA)
Kaman, Kırşehir, Türkiye
July 7 to July 11, 2025
This workshop will cover the retrieval of artifacts from the ground and follow those artifacts through the processes of documentation, examination, cleaning, consolidation, reconstruction, restoration, storage, and museum display. Preventive conservation and the use of sustainable materials will be emphasized throughout the workshop.

Eligibility Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a university program (undergraduate or graduate) in Turkey
for cultural heritage conservation or a related field (such as archaeology)

Fluency in English (all instruction will be in English)
Enrollment Fee:
350$ or 13.000 TL per person
Room and board will be provided by the JIAA.
Participants will need to arrange their own travel to Kaman and should arrive at the JIAA on the evening of July 6 and arrange to depart on July 12.
